Throughout the work week, I usually go to the gym during my lunch break. I’m pretty consistent because it has become part of my daily routine. I don’t even think about it anymore; I just get up, grab my bag and head to the gym.
Naturally, some weeks are busier than others; and last week was one of those busy weeks. I only went to the gym two days, instead of my usual four. Of course, I felt bad and told myself that I could make it up by doing additional workouts over the weekend.
With a family and jam-packed weekends, I don’t have any extra free time to spend at the gym. I try to spend as much time as I can with my son, Wyatt, while still accomplishing our regular weekend chores, including cleaning the house, grocery shopping, prepping food for the week, and washing piles of laundry.
As I watched Wyatt run around the park Sunday afternoon, slide down the slides, and throw mulch and rocks everywhere, it occurred to me that this would be a great time to do a quick workout using the park bench and a bar on the jungle gym or monkey bars (if available).
It worked out so well, I wanted to share it with my readers. With a little creativity, there is always time for exercise, even while watching your children. Don’t worry, all these exercises can be done while still watching the activities in the park.
Don’t forget to stretch and drink plenty of water.
