The Paleo diet focuses on vegetables, protein and fruit – and, yes, in that order. I’ll confess, protein was my lifeline in the beginning and is a great part of Paleo meals, but I’ve learned a few important measures over the years:
- The amount of protein you need is a very touchy subject, especially within the weight-lifting community.
- The right amount of protein is different for every person and is based on a number of different factors.
- A good rule of thumb is 1 gram protein for every 1 kilogram you weigh. So just convert your current weight into kilograms and that value should be close to the grams of protein your body needs.
