It’s the start of a new year – the beginning of a new beginning.  The most opportune time to set goals that are actually attainable and achievable over this next year.

If you’re anything like a majority of the population, your goals for this year revolve around losing weight, saving money, and being healthier.

Well you’ve come to the right place!

Let’s look at the all-too-common resolutions with fresh eyes and dust off our old routines that might have morphed over time.

How many of you get stuck in a routine or a pattern of similar meals?

I know I do.

Even with my website and always trying to find new and interesting recipes, I still find myself making the same meals over again.

I tend to fall back on the easy, quick, go-to meals that I forget there so much creativity in meal planning and thinking outside the box.

Creating new meals is very rewarding.  With all the food choices out there, we could potentially make a different meal every day of the year!

Okay, okay; I’m not suggesting that.

My goodness that would be a serious undertaking.  But really, think of all the possibilities there are out there and how much fun it would be experimenting and changing your typical routine.

Our Simple Home Kitchen

Moving our new year’s goals into the kitchen, let’s take a look at our equipment.

How many of you have pots and pans collecting dust?

When we moved into a smaller home, we had to think about each piece of equipment, gadget, and tool determine if it was necessary.  Somethings we simply never, or very rarely, used.

  • Downsize
  • Minimize
  • Reorganize
  • Prioritize

Whatever you choose to call it, get rid of the excess clutter, the unused gadgets.  I mean, how many wooden spoons do you really need anyways?

Keep the best of the best – the cream of the crop.  Then, make them all accessible.

If you have to get on your hands and knees to reach the crock pot, how often are you really going to use it?

Yeah, I thought so.
