Interesting Facts

If you’ve researched this before, you may have found some recipes saying to use room temperature eggs or that you have to pour the oil in sloooooowly.

Some of these so-called “tips” may not be correct.

Eggs must be room temperature

MYTH

Eggs, fresh from the fridge, work just fine…I promise.

Oil should be poured in slowly while blending

MYTH

Not true either.  As long as your container is tall and thin – wide enough for your immersion blender – then all the ingredients can be placed into the container at once, and it will process wonderfully.

You can use a food processor to make Homemade Ranch

MYTH

Unless, of course, you’re making a huge batch, but the blades aren’t low enough to reach the bottom and won’t process well.

You can make this recipe without equipment

true, but not recommended

You may, if you like, make this Ranch Dressing by hand, although I don’t recommend it.  Unless you want a one-sided shoulder, forearm, and grip-strength workout, it’s way too much work.

My husband knows from experience!

I use an immersion blender for this recipe.  If you don’t already have one, I recommend this immersion blender.  I use it so much; it’s easy to clean, and it comes with a lot of attachments so you can do other amazing things with it.
